If you're a fan of CNN, you may have noticed advertisements for a new show that isn't news related. If you're an Anthony Bourdain fan, you may have noticed that he's coming out with a new television show on a news network. Either way, Anthony Bourdain, Parts Unknown needed a distinctive look and feel.
Working on the development side of these two pages (a show page and an episode page), we had two goals in mind: make it responsive, and make it easy for editors to add the content they want to the pages. Of course, CNN is no stranger to content management, so that wasn't too big of a hurdle. All that needed to be done was add new functionality for new datatypes, and we're rockin' and rollin'. Responsive design required more thought and patience however.
In the end, we launched a beautiful site using the latest in HTML 5 and CSS 3 techniques, focused on graceful degradation to support legacy browsers, and made sure the pages were fully functional on any available device.
